Testing ( motion )

Typography is what language looks like.

It is the art and techniques of type design, modifying type glyphs and arranging the type.

Type glyphs are created using a variety of illustration techniques.

The arrangement of type is the selection of typefaces, point size, line length, leading and kerning.

The anatomy of a letter form consists of stem, baseline, ascender, descender, counter, serif, x-height, and many more characteristics.

Typography is most commonly performed by typographers, graphic artists and art directors.

The digital age opened up typography to new generations of visual designers.

A good typographer is someone who communicates the point of view with skill and imagination, and makes the type taste good.

Malacca Trip report

Report for Video class first day to Malacca

There are four of us in the group, Chris (audio editor), Chen Li (director), Wahyu (video editor) and Joanne (producer). We are doing a documentary on a shop name Long Fatt at Malacca and the title is Teo Chew foods for Video Class’s assignment.

Our first trip to Malacca was on Friday (30th May), we started our journey at KL Central at 10.30am and reached Malacca around 12.30pm. After Wahyu did his prayer and we took our lunch, we met the owner of Long Fatt at 3pm.

He told us that He’s the third generations of the shop and his son going to be the fourth generations of the shop but will it be successful or not, they still not sure about it. Besides, the shop started business pre-war and it’s started from his grandfather who is from China. His grandfather passed away when he was 5 years old.

Other then these, people do said they believe this is the only Teo Chew porridge which still exists in Malacca and the roll of shops use to have 7 wells since pre-war and 4 had been closed, one of it is in the shop and they still using it for washing.

We did get a lot of information that we wanted and he’s willing to share with us. We also did some short clips on recording what the owner said. After we finish interview with the owner, we have a walked and did our photo shooting assignments. After we took our lunch around 9pm we on our journey back to KL and we reached KL around 11.30pm. The expenses of the day are car oil, RM57 and toll fees, RM31 and the total are RM88.

5 Good Typo Websites

what's a good typo website to me
i look into
  • the spacing-the hierarchy
  • the front they use-suit the page?
  • clear enough?
so what i found on the 5 websites

They do have their own spacing, clear fonts with good hierarchy and easy to read.
Besides that they choose the fonts and colours suit for their websites. Some although just black and white but it make the focus point and the it's simply and nice.

Executive Summary

For Courts Mammoth , it's a good on the flexibility for the customer to know what
they have in the courts for the moment such as furnitures, electrical and digital. Besides, they let customers make order thou the website with warranty, guaranteed and cheaper princes. Courts Mammoth have the local traditional style and modern style, traditional style it's more on Malaysian local religion base on Indian, Malay and Chinese.

From there, the site need to be more friendly user and more easier to let the browser view but not confusing them. From another way, they should have a slide show display on how to order the item they want to let the customer more easier to understand. About the furnitures, digital and electrical part, it's should be more info to let the browser to get to know the size of the item n the details of the items.

They flash playing in the homepage it's making people confuse by the colours and what they actually wanted to tell, and the navigations are making the browser kind of confused with the same info from the other pages. For the target audience of this site mostly are adult who are working and not teenagers.
